Ruapehu Distillery, Ohakune in New Zealand started with our search for a spirit that captured the sense of place, the wild mountain air, volcanic soils, breath taking lunar moons, and a dash of the unexpected. But, we also wanted to create spirits to suit different sweet spots, giving you the freedom to choose the sweetness that's right for you.
In 2026, we opened the doors while determined to keep things simple and straight up, raise a smile, and share spirits that feel as lively and down-to-earth as the town itself. With each batch, we aim to reflect the character of Ruapehu, meet your sweet spot, with friendly, local service you’d expect; whether you live around the corner or order from across the world.

A bold thinker with a passion for innovation, I’m endlessly inspired by time-honoured techniques carrying a deep respect for the craft and the people who shaped it. At the same time, I feel a constant pull to explore, experiment and push the boundaries of what spirits can be.
It’s not just a process, it’s a living, creative dialogue, blending traditional artisan skill with new ideas and unexpected twists.
